Things I Amplify from the web

Where to start as entrepreneur?

To start as entrepreneur, is just by starting. Create/build your idea.... start understanding your market(customer) because that will be your passion and you will find your sweetspot idea in there. Creating your skillsets, to be active online. (programming, marketing (twitters/facebook). Choice your tools, understand and maintain your skillsets of the tools. Especially follow companies/powerusers/powerfollowers)

This artikel focus more on building fast. So you will build fast. But without quality... the tips what they give like talk to everyone/mockups/crm with press/investors and advisors are great tips. But after the first part of my advise.

My slot advise, do NEVER stress, except it is healthy stress. Give yourself alot of time in your innovative/creativity 5-10 years incubunation time is normally. But when you are in the momentum the game changes... then try to be mozart. Keep on having one habit learn daily new tool, so you will be n00b forever.

1. Pitch everyone your idea
2. Mockup wireframes
3. Hire a designer
4. Do customer development
5. Make good connections with investors and advisors
6. Develop relationships with press
You should be able to move swiftly from steps 1-6 within 2 months. After those 9 aggressive weeks, you should go back to the programmers, angels and potential customers, and see if their decision to work with you has changed.

Entrepreneurship, lean startup at her best, but it still sucks.

I believe these guys, are good sample of beeing bootstrapped/lean startup.

They only talked onces about their vision and it was about how to get customer.

My advice and strategy is different. Build micro/macro/meso vision of your market/product/problems/solutions.... dream in details. Search your hypothesis your biggest pain ever and make decision which market and what your passion is. Then go make alot of hypothesis. Created out of that hypothesis alot of demo's.(use all the tools out their) Start education yourself about webdevelopement. Learn... after that have 3 MVP's(your businessmodels is also mvp and here make good IT strategy plan) ready... and choice one of them. And pivot fast, learn more... but most important live with passion and be proffesionel.

Down the Rabbit Hole and Back Again: The Story of Flowtown

The following story is about Flowtown – a startup I co-founded with Ethan 2 years ago. In it, I’ll go over; how we got started, raised a venture round, scaled to over 25,000 businesses, hit a wall and built it all back up again. Entrepreneurship is about crazy highs and intense lows and the ability to get through those tough moments.

In the Beginning, We Had a landingpag.es

We talked to 30+ business owners and identified the need. What we missed was that no small business would self-service, and after launching and getting over 600 people to sign-up, we finally got to 1 monthly paying subscriber.

The next product idea came from a prototype we built called Hedwig.

We armed ourselves with 6 high fidelity mockups and hit the streets. Only after we pre-sold the app to 10 customers – at $20 bucks a piece – did we take things to the next level.
After spending 4 weeks validating and launching our minimum viable product (MVP) we launched to the public.
4 weeks later we closed a $750K round of financing by some amazing investors.
Month over month we grew users and revenue at 30+% until one day it all came to a stop.

Getting Shut Down

It all started when the Wall Street Journal published a front-page article attacking Facebook for leaking user data and how some companies – not us – were selling private data to 3rd parties that were using it for advertising solutions.

Starting Over

3 Prototypes Were Born
  • Spiderman
  • Timely
  • Ambassador

Ambassador was the idea that every company has “superfans” that might connect their social accounts for your business to leverage when promoting content (to help with distribution of content and news).

Our vision and belief is that giving free stuff, including product samples, will eventually be seen as a new way of marketing and to acquire customers. Much like freemium in online SaaS products has become a new way of marketing certain products, product-gifting will become a dominant channel for finding new customers. It’s still very early, but we’re committed to this vision and we’re super confident (and excited) in our early traction.

To start Programming

Easy said then done. Just do it..... do what? Yes installing programs. And each program you must learn what it does. Welcome to the world of programming.

Akash is explain just start programming. I think he means, start with reading, studying how other people is doing, which tools are the best and after that you choice language/editor/operating system. Mabye you already have chosen an operating system.

So as you can read, there is big gap. Where will you go and find good resources to code? Which tribe are you going to follow? My suggestion has different approach.

First your first idea, is the most important one ever. What is your idea? Why do you want to start programming? After you find your passion you go answering if you must have internet. Then you will find faster which resources you want to use.

Start collecting people on twitter/facebook/hackers news/ online forums/ IRC/ google reader (rss)/ebooks (and find the auteurs online) Uselly the best people are not the leaders to follow but the powerusers of the leaders. The persons who make all the idea's of the leader realist and more.

So just start learning programming, is very very bad advice.
Better advice => idea => passion => people (powerusers)=> tools

After awhile, the power users explains all the tools, explain all the new tools out there. You will read alot of conflicts within the ideas. That is how you going to learn very very rapidly. Mean while you are experimenting with all the tools as much as possible plus start documenting it.

There aren’t too many people who want to create stuff and solve problems. You are a hacker.
need to learn before doing
Choose a good language. One that you think you can produce something useful in short time.
Choose a good editor.

Use an operating system that’ll teach you something.

Don’t copy-paste files to backup stuff.

Know where to get help.

Develop your netiquette.

Completing stuff faster and being able to see the output keeps you motivated.
SublimeText 2 – recommended if you are just starting.
Macs are cool too
amateur programmers to copy-paste
Stop that
I strongly suggest Gi
. StackOverflow is Facebook for programmers.
Also learn to use the IRC.
(or should I say blekko first)
Meet people, because books only teach you routine stuff (
Roam, meet people and say hello.
Write opensource code.
It also helps you refine your skills when someone else adds to your code or suggests changes

Lastly, when years pass, return this favour, by writing a similar letter to someone else who asks you for such help. And possibily correct me.

Wise men say, it takes 10 years or 10000 hours to get good at something. So don’t hurry.
anewbie responded:
i strongly suggest choosing Python as a first language. download ThinkPython,
tony baldwin responded:
This is good stuff!
I recommend also, read ESR's article on How to Become a Hacker:

http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html

You used the term open source instead of free software. There's a huge ethical difference between the two... was this unconscious or on purpose?
@codykonior On purpose. As you've noticed, a part of the paragraph talks about additions/suggestions to the source code. Which means the software has to be opensource. Well, license is upto you or anyone who wrote the software :)

Technology is your friend or foe… your choice!

What kind of strategy and philosophize you got with the technology but better word is INTERNET?

This article write about how we can adjust our way of living to am brash technology. I agree, with an alot of pionts. But i am going to take the challenge to make better pionts. 3 pionts exactly....

Filosofie
You must have a working life filosofie. Education is a major part of our life, now more then before. Thanks to the internet, you must be a speedlearner. Are you? If you are then you can make decision if technology is good for you. Other way, focus first about what is learning and how to learn

Poweruser
Every company/technology must have powerusers. But being every technology a poweruser is not yet possible. Maybe when my tool is on line it might be. But for now a poweruser is an user who is using the tools at his/her most in his/her life. You must be in a couple of technology poweruser. Maybe your iphone/powernap/talking/daydreaming.... If you believe in the 10.000 hour principle, to get good in a skill.

Beeing best follower,
So you don't have time to e a poweruser. Follow the poweruser, help him with his learning process. Ask question, ask video's... help him with marketing. And push the company to reward those people. We need more best followers in the world. The reason why you need to be best follower. You will have the same skillset als poweruser at the end. Without spending the 10.000 hours to have the skillset.

Anything you buy, you must maintain. Each tool you use requires time to learn how to use, to install, to upgrade, or to fix. A purchase is just the beginning. You can expect to devote as much energy/money/time in maintaining a technology as you did in acquiring it.

• You will be newbie forever. Get good at the beginner mode, learning new programs, asking dumb questions, making stupid mistakes, soliticting help, and helping others with what you learn (the best way to learn yourself).

• Tools are metaphors that shape how you think. What embedded assumptions does the new tool make? Does it assume right-handedness, or literacy, or a password, or a place to throw it away? Where the defaults are set can reflect a tool's bias.

New Project/Action/Lifestyle

I learned from this artikel to plan at night for the morning and if something is new plan more minutes into it untill you are in your routine.

Take action with that,now. :)

Amplifyd from www.readingrockets.org

Go ahead, set that alarm clock

Now set it for 10 minutes earlier. Until a good school routine is established, recognize that everything will take extra time. Give your child (and yourself!) the cushion of a few extra minutes. Once your routine is in place, you may find you can get up a little later.

These five recommendations might not smooth out every wrinkle in your morning routine, but they may leave your family feeling a little calmer, relaxed, and who knows, maybe smiling!

Help pakistan,now! Yes, you onliner.

Give your idea's how we can save Pakistan.

Help, Pakistan now!

Help pakistan,now! Yes, you onliner.

General idea
The Pakistan government is doing their best but will not be able to manage all the required support. Their are at least 100 countries and their citizens who want to help Pakistan.

In the Netherlands fundraising is going on for collecting money, a lot of foundations are helping worldwide and worldwide governments are giving a helping hand. A lot of people worldwide want to help more then giving money....

The idea:
The affected area is divided into 100 areas online. Each country/multinationals cooperation adopts one or more areas. And they will be responsible for solving all the problems in that area.

We will build an online communication platform, so all of the countries/multinationals/people can come online and start sorting the pakistan information/activity. And every country has their own resources and way to do it.

This platform will provide a new way to collaborate and stimulate friendly competition. Divide and save Pakistan!Read more at helppakistannow.weebly.com

Autodidact or selfstudying will be most important.

The people i am searching for in my life:

Need to have more then one passion, want to survive with more then 5 teams. (for sample family, friends, businessfriends, nonprofit people and new friends)

Need to talk about idea's and emotion sperately. And give proper questions and answer in a dialogue.

Need to use internet as a connection tool in the world. Not as something new and strange or a miracle tool or something dangerous.

This blog give a nice statement where internet might be going. I am already using the internet more then a tool for communication. More into connection to the world and connecting with people who has alot of passion in life. I first connect with people who i knew....

But now i learn something important and that is: Who you are now is who you want to be in the future and what you already did in the past.

With that peace of wisdom, you can start connecting with the right kind of people. So your brain will double or triple or ..... because you will do brainmelting each time you read and start dialogue with those kind of people.

Five years from now on the web for free you’ll be able to find the best lectures in the world…It will be better than any single university.

Of course, the internet already has a wealth of information for self-starters. But as universities continue to post their materials online, Gates says the web will come to offer educational possibilities unrivalled by any one university:
